London and Brighton based four-piece Hugh have been a little quiet for much of 2015, but that wall of relative silence has come crashing down in September with the exquisite 'Learn To Fall' appearing online last week. Comparisons to The XX will always dog Hugh, so long as Joshua Idehen's and Izzy Brooks' smooth and sensitive harmonies continue to gloriously entwine, but 'Learn To Fall' leaps beyond the XL trio's dusky garage-pop with its potent 808 beats offering up a propulsive quality to compliment the otherwise melancholy pianos and ghostly churns of guitar and synth. 'Learn To Fall' will form part of a AA-side release due next month, alongside another new track, 'Almost Done, Almost'. Good to have Hugh back, guys. - DC
